At Stantec, we believe that protecting and enhancing our natural environment is fundamental to creating resilient communities. As our Environmental Services team continues to grow across Ireland, we're looking for a talented Project Ecologist to join our expanding ecology team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious ecology professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality environmental projects while continuing to develop their technical expertise and career. Working alongside experienced ecologists, planners and engineers, you'll contribute to a diverse range of infrastructure and development projects that help shape a more sustainable future for communities across Ireland.

YOUR IMPACT

As a Project Ecologist, you'll play an important role in delivering ecological services across a wide variety of infrastructure and development projects. You'll undertake habitat, flora and fauna surveys, contribute to ecological assessments, and prepare high-quality technical reports including Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA), Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA), Appropriate Assessment Screening reports, Natura Impact Statements (NIS) and EIAR chapters.

Working closely with experienced ecologists and multidisciplinary project teams, you'll provide ecological advice throughout the planning, design, construction and operational stages of projects, helping to deliver positive environmental outcomes for our clients. You'll collaborate with colleagues across a range of disciplines, contribute to technical excellence within the team, and continue developing your ecological knowledge and consultancy skills as you build your career with Stantec.

ABOUT YOUT

You'll be an ecology professional who is passionate about biodiversity, sustainability and delivering high-quality environmental outcomes. You enjoy working collaboratively, are motivated to develop your technical expertise, and are confident managing your own workload while contributing to multidisciplinary project teams.

You'll also have:

  • A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years' post-graduate experience within ecological consultancy or a related environmental field.
  • A good understanding of Irish ecological legislation, planning processes and relevant European environmental directives and case law.
  • Experience carrying out habitat, flora and fauna surveys and preparing ecological assessments.
  • Membership of CIEEM.
  • Excellent communication, report writing and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • A full, clean driving licence.
