As our Water business continues to grow, we're looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team in Newcastle or Leeds.

This is an opportunity to take a leading technical role within one of the UK's foremost multidisciplinary engineering consultancies. Working alongside nationally recognised specialists, you'll lead the delivery of complex EICA solutions across major water and wastewater infrastructure programmes while influencing engineering standards, developing client relationships and supporting the continued growth of our Electrical Engineering capability. With access to diverse frameworks, innovative digital technologies and multidisciplinary expertise, you'll play a key role in delivering projects that make a lasting difference to communities across the UK.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across major EICA projects, overseeing delivery from feasibility and concept development through to detailed design and construction support. You'll ensure technical excellence and robust engineering governance while working closely with project managers, clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes.

You'll lead the production and review of electrical engineering deliverables, including Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, specifications and design calculations, while providing technical direction across the wider project team. Alongside project delivery, you'll mentor developing engineers, strengthen client relationships, contribute to bids and framework growth and help drive continuous improvement across the Electrical Engineering discipline.

YOUR IMPACT

Your technical leadership will influence the delivery of critical infrastructure that enables water companies to improve operational resilience, achieve ambitious environmental targets and provide safe, reliable services for millions of customers. Through innovative engineering solutions, you'll help shape major investment programmes that support the future of the UK's water industry.

Beyond project delivery, you'll play an important role in developing engineering capability across the business by mentoring future leaders, embedding technical excellence and strengthening long-term client partnerships.
