Principal Electrical Engineer - Water

We are currently seeking experienced Electrical or EICA Engineers to join our established Water team in Belfast.

 ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will be involved across the entire project lifecycle—from initial feasibility studies and optioneering through to detailed design, construction support, and site investigations. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate on diverse projects across the water, wastewater, energy, infrastructure, and environmental sectors.

As an experienced Electrical Engineer, you will work closely with project managers, technical leads, design teams, clients, supply chain partners, and contractors to deliver exceptional outcomes. You will leverage your understanding of water treatment processes and ICA infrastructure to assess existing assets, develop robust EICA designs, and drive sustainable project delivery.

 ABOUT YOU

• Professional Qualifications: Holds a relevant degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and is working towards—or has already achieved—Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with the IET (or equivalent professional body).
• Technical Documentation: Proven experience in writing robust technical specifications, control philosophies, asset schedules, and detailed engineering reports.
• Collaborative Design: Proven ability to produce Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Block Cable Diagrams, and Network Infrastructure Diagrams while contributing engineering inputs to 3D models, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Sector Knowledge: Practical understanding of water/wastewater treatment processes and hands-on experience assessing, upgrading, and delivering electrical and ICA infrastructure.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication skills with a track record of collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary project teams, clients, supply chain partners, and site contractors.
