The UK water sector is undergoing its most ambitious period of investment in decades, and Stantec is helping to deliver the infrastructure that will improve water security, protect the environment and support communities for generations to come. As investment across the South of England continues to grow, we're looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our expanding Water team.
This is an exciting opportunity to take the next step in your career, leading the delivery of mechanical engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater projects. ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the delivery of mechanical engineering design across a range of infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, supporting delivery from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design, construction support and commissioning.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Leading mechanical design for water and wastewater treatment works, pumping stations and associated infrastructure.
-
Producing and reviewing technical calculations, specifications, schedules and engineering documentation.
-
Collaborating with Project Managers, civil, electrical, process and structural engineers to deliver integrated design solutions.

-
Providing technical guidance and mentoring to developing engineers.
-
Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and supply chain partners to ensure successful project delivery.
YOUR IMPACT
Your work will help deliver the resilient water infrastructure that communities depend on every day. Through your technical expertise, you'll support clients in improving operational performance, meeting environmental commitments and delivering sustainable engineering solutions that respond to the challenges of climate change and population growth.
Beyond project delivery, you'll play an important role in strengthening our Mechanical Engineering capability by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues and driving technical excellence across the team. Every project you contribute to will help create lasting value for clients, communities and the environment.
