THE OPPORTUNITY

Working on high-profile projects within the Water and Energy sectors, you will support the preparation of planning applications, planning strategies and stakeholder engagement programmes while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

As a Town Planner, you will support the delivery of a broad range of planning projects across Ireland, with a particular focus on infrastructure, environmental and development planning. You will be responsible for preparing planning applications, reports and planning strategies, while providing planning advice to clients and multidisciplinary project teams.

The role offers the opportunity to work closely with planning authorities, stakeholders and clients, contributing to projects within the Water and Energy sectors as well as wider development and strategic planning initiatives. You will play an active role in project delivery, stakeholder engagement and business development, while continuing to develop your technical expertise and professional career within a collaborative and supportive environment.

YOUR IMPACT 

As part of Stantec's planning team, you will help shape the sustainable development of communities and critical infrastructure across Ireland. Your expertise will support the successful delivery of planning applications, infrastructure projects and strategic planning initiatives, ensuring projects progress efficiently through the planning process.

Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to projects within the Water and Energy sectors, engage with key stakeholders and planning authorities, and provide planning solutions that balance environmental, social and economic considerations. Through your work, you will play an important role in delivering infrastructure and development projects that create lasting benefits for communities, clients and the environment.

ABOUT YOU 

You are a motivated planning professional with 3–7 years’ experience in town planning, environmental planning, infrastructure planning or a related discipline. You have a strong understanding of Irish planning legislation and policy, along with experience preparing planning applications, reports and supporting documentation. You are confident working in multidisciplinary teams and engaging with clients, planning authorities and stakeholders to deliver high-quality project outcomes.

You will bring a strong combination of technical knowledge, communication skills and practical experience, including:

  • Solid understanding of Irish planning legislation, policy and development management processes
  • Experience preparing planning applications, planning reports and technical submissions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven stakeholder engagement ability
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple project priorities
