We're looking for a Geotechnical Consultant to join our team in Northampton, with Birmingham also considered as a potential base location. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with solid consultancy experience who enjoys combining ground investigation, geotechnical assessment and design, and is looking to further develop their technical expertise within a collaborative and growing team.
You'll work on projects ranging from major infrastructure schemes and energy developments through to residential, commercial and regeneration projects, gaining exposure to a broad variety of ground conditions, engineering challenges and technical solutions.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Geotechnical Consultant, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality geotechnical solutions for a wide range of clients and projects.
Working alongside experienced geotechnical, geo-environmental and multidisciplinary teams, you'll contribute throughout the project lifecycle, from site investigation and assessment through to design and construction support.
Your role will include:
- Planning, managing and interpreting ground investigations.
- Developing ground models and undertaking geotechnical assessments.
- Producing clear, concise and high-quality interpretive reports.
- Undertaking geotechnical analysis and contributing to the design of foundations, earthworks, retaining structures, slopes and ground improvement solutions.
- Providing technical input across a diverse range of projects and sectors.
- Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions for clients.
- Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
- Contributing to the successful delivery of projects through effective technical and commercial awareness.

ABOUT YOU
We're looking for a motivated geotechnical professional who enjoys solving engineering challenges and delivering high-quality technical work.
You'll bring:
- Experience delivering geotechnical investigations, assessments and reporting within a consultancy environment.
- Strong ground modelling and interpretive reporting skills.
- Experience undertaking geotechnical analysis and contributing to design solutions.
- Knowledge of foundations, earthworks, retaining structures, slopes and ground improvement techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
