The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Lead to support the delivery of major and/or design and build projects in the Water Sector. The role can be based out of any of our regional offices in the South of England and will require regular travel to client or contractor offices, project sites and other Stantec offices.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Lead role is a key one within the Stantec Major Projects management team. It is a leadership role but focused on service delivery and achieving high health and safety standards and progressing our SaferTogether culture.

The role is a hands-on and practical role, working within project delivery teams primarily driving proactive CDM related planning and assurance. The role will also include delivering client facing health and safety commissions. 

At a tactical level, you will be actively involved in major projects with respect to proactive fieldwork risk management and CDM advice and assurance, providing health and safety services to meet any client commission’s particular needs; and supporting the growth of health and safety professional services as a product line across the major infrastructure market.

You will play a key strategic role in supporting Stantec’s major project’s leadership in the development of a culture focused on health, safety and wellbeing across their portfolio including driving leading indicator proactive behaviours; communicating, promoting and reinforcing our Core Business Values and Stantec’s SaferTogether culture.  

ABOUT YOU

To succeed in this role, you will need to be an experienced HSSE professional with a passion for major infrastructure projects.

  • Educational: You hold a relevant level 6 HSSE qualification e.g. NEBOSH Diploma, degree or NVQ or working towards.
  • Professional Standing: You will ideally have professional qualifications such as Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH).
  • Expertise: You have extensive HSSE experience in major delivery environments. You have practical experience of working within the CDM regulations and can advise on good practice in all duty holder roles.You deliver high quality, timely outputs.
  • Leadership Style: You are an independent worker, a persuasive communicator and thrive in a collaborative environment.You are capable of influencing senior stakeholders and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

You must be willing to travel and have a full clean drivers license.
