Clean, safe drinking water is something most of us take for granted, but behind every tap is a complex network of pipes, pumps and infrastructure that has to perform reliably, every single day. At Stantec, we're the people working to keep those networks running, planning the improvements that will serve communities for decades to come, and applying cutting edge modelling to some of the most challenging problems in the UK water sector.
We're looking for a Water Networks Modeller to join our clean water team, open to candidates based across a number of our UK offices with hybrid working available. If you've built solid foundations in hydraulic modelling and you're ready to take on more complex projects and greater technical responsibility, this could be exactly the right next step.
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you'll be working on projects that directly support the planning, optimisation and improvement of water distribution networks for clients across the sector. That means getting into the detail, calibrating models, analysing network performance, and developing practical solutions to challenges like pressure management, leakage reduction and asset performance.
You'll work closely with senior and principal modellers, contributing to project delivery while continuing to build your own expertise. You'll also collaborate across disciplines, seeing how your modelling work connects with digital services, asset management and wider hydraulic analysis, giving you a broader view of how the water industry operates and where it's heading.
YOUR IMPACT
The networks you'll be modelling serve real communities. The analysis you carry out will inform investment decisions, shape infrastructure planning, and help ensure that water reaches people reliably and efficiently. In a sector undergoing significant transformation, with AMP 8 investment programmes well underway and growing pressure to reduce leakage and improve resilience, the technical work done by modellers like you has a direct bearing on outcomes that matter. You'll be contributing to that at a pivotal moment.
ABOUT YOU
You'll have a degree in a relevant discipline and practical experience of working in water networks. You will be comfortable with hydraulic modelling software such as InfoWorks WS Pro, InfoWater, SynerGi or similar, and you bring strong data analysis skills to your work.
More than the technical credentials, though, you're someone who wants to keep growing. You're ready to move beyond the early stages of your career and take on projects where your judgement and technical input genuinely count. If you're working towards chartership with a relevant professional body, we'll support you in getting there, with a structured progression plan and the mentorship of experienced colleagues who've made that journey themselves.
