The Opportunity

Are you a talented Hydrologist with a passion for sustainable water management?

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Hydrologist to join our growing water and environment team at Ryan Hanley, now part of Stantec. You will play a key role in delivering hydrological assessments and technical inputs across a wide range of infrastructure, water, and development projects, with excellent opportunities to develop your career within a multidisciplinary environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking hydrological assessments including flood risk assessments (FRA), drainage impact assessments, and surface water studies.

  • Collecting, analysing, and interpreting hydrological and meteorological data.

  • Supporting the preparation of technical reports and environmental submissions, including EIAR inputs and regulatory assessments.

  • Contributing to project scoping, planning, and programming activities.

  • Undertaking site visits and fieldwork for data collection and technical assessment.

  • Liaising with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Supporting tender submissions and preparation of fee proposals.

About You

You are a motivated hydrology professional with experience in surface water assessments, data analysis, and environmental reporting within the Irish regulatory context. You have a solid understanding of flood risk management, drainage design principles, and relevant legislation and guidance. With strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills, you work effectively both independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams. You are enthusiastic about sustainable water management and committed to delivering high-quality technical outputs that support positive environmental outcomes.
