We are currently seeking a Graduate or Assistant Transport Planner to join our vibrant team focused on infrastructure and energy projects. You will be working alongside a range of specialist Transport Planners in the Movement & Technology team on major projects in the public and private sectors. That team in turn sits within a larger group of Transport Planners in offices across the UK.
Much of the team’s work is involved with the UK’s Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and other regionally important or large scale initiatives. Working in collaboration with teams across the UK and internationally, the team advises on Transport Planning for energy and resource infrastructure; Intelligent Transport Systems and public transport; and strategic operational and construction freight and logistics initiatives. The team also works with its wider Transport Planning colleagues on development planning advice – often with a focus on construction specialisms.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get experience in some of the UK’s most high profile projects such as the transport aspects of power generation and transfer projects; renewables; bus based public transport and travel infrastructure schemes.
To supplement the existing relationships with large multi-national clients the team is also focusing on capitalising on recent wins on multi-million pound frameworks in both the private and public sectors. The team’s future pipeline is strong and is only growing.
The Movement & Technology team is looking for enthusiastic innovators who will grasp the emergence of the infrastructure focused skills that are required for this growing market and engrain it into their project work; will understand the importance of major infrastructure and help to plan for it to be delivered with minimal impact for optimum advantage. The team has a unique skills base and wants to grow that through carefully selected individuals that will help to further strengthen its project outputs.
This role will provide you with significant opportunity for career progression and personal development, through the delivery of high value quality services to influential clients. Ideally you will be co-located with Movement & Technology team members either in London, Reading or Taunton, but Stantec has offices in most large cities across the UK.
No one working day will be the same where you might be working on analysing traffic or passenger data; solving a construction logistics challenge; or advising on the implications of innovative mobility initiatives. You will be preparing analytical reports; graphically presenting data; or assessing impacts using industry standard Transport Planning tools.
About You
You will be at least degree qualified in transport planning, geography, mathematical or an engineering related field. You will be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills and have excellent report writing and communication skills. Working in a highly numerate environment, you must have a very high level of numeracy. Ideally you will have strong experience with spreadsheet, PowerBI and GIS analysis and manipulation.
To succeed in this role, you will be a positive and enthusiastic team player with a passion for transport planning. The more you invest the more you will achieve.
